Harvard University tracked 184 women who were trying to conceive. The results showed that 55 percent of the women who completed a mind/body program like yoga got pregnant within a year, compared with only 20 percent in a control group. Links between yoga and fertility have not yet been proven in long-term studies, but yoga can reduce stress, which in turn can aid fertility. Chronic elevation of stress hormones can interfere with ovulation, hormone production and the uterine environment. (See section on Stress & Infertility below)

But, there are many kinds of yoga and not all yoga is appropriate for fertility. Many doctors advise again doing “Hot” Bikram Yoga while pregnant, just as they advise against hot tubs, saunas and anything that raises your core temperature.
