Vitamin B12 & Fertility

Diet & Fertility: Separating Myth from Fact to get pregnant faster naturally

Dose: Take a minimum of RDA 2.6 micrograms per day, but natural health experts recommend taking 50 – 100 mcg of B12 in a B-Complex supplement that contains a full spectrum of B vitamins.

NOT likely enough in your Prenatal Vitamin

Limit: No upper limit of B12 has been set, not concerns for toxicity

B-12 deficiency has been implicated in causing repeated miscarriages. Low B-12 levels can contribute to abnormal ovulation, impaired development of the egg and difficulty implanting a fertilized egg.

You can get vitamin B12 from animal products, such as fish, poultry, eggs and meat. Vegetarians may have a vitamin B12 deficiency and should be tested for B12 levels.

If you have Hypothyroidism or any Pituitary problems, please read up on B12 deficiencies and it impact on fertility here: Vega-licious
